Original Part or OEM-Quality? How to read the product-card markings
When you're looking for filters for your unit, you may notice a small coloured dot on the product card. At a glance it tells you whether the product is the manufacturer's original or a compatible model that meets the same quality requirements. Here's a short explanation so you can choose what's right for you.
Two markings
Yellow dot – Original Part
The manufacturer's original branded product. Exactly the filter the equipment manufacturer specified for its product.
Silver dot – OEM-Quality
A compatible model that meets the quality standards of the original branded product. The dimensions, filter class and construction are designed to match the factory's original filter as closely as possible.
What does ”OEM-Quality” mean in practice?
OEM-Quality is not the same as any random compatible filter. The marking is given only to products whose materials, dimensions and filtering properties have been chosen to meet the quality requirements of the manufacturer's original model. That way you get a filter that fits your unit and filters as intended – often domestically made and with good availability.
Which should I choose?
Choose Original Part if you specifically want the equipment manufacturer's own branded product.
Choose OEM-Quality if you want an option that meets the same quality requirements. It's designed to match the original in filtering performance and fit.
Both keep your indoor air clean and your unit in good working order. The key thing is that the filter fits your specific unit – so always check the machine model on the product card before ordering.
