Filters for Ilto ventilation units – how to choose the right model
Ilto is a well-established Finnish brand of ventilation units, and many Ilto units are still in busy use. Today the Ilto range belongs to the Swegon Casa family, so the same unit may be labelled with either name – and often the same filter fits both. In this guide we go through the Ilto models and their filters.
Identify your Ilto model
The model designation is on the unit's rating plate or in service papers, for example Ilto 440, Ilto R120 or Ilto 270 K. The numbers and letters determine the filter size. If the unit is labelled both Ilto and Swegon, the filter is typically the same.
The most common Ilto models and their filters
Most sets contain a fine filter for the supply air (F7 / ePM1) and a coarse filter for the extract air (G3/G4).
- Ilto 250 / 260 / 270 K / 270 M – common older models.
- Ilto 300 / 350 / 400 / 400 M – units in the Ilto series (also Swegon Casa 400 M).
- Ilto 430 / 435 / 440 – a popular model series (also Swegon).
- Ilto 650 / 850 (Swegon 650 / 850) – models for larger premises.
- Ilto R85 (Swegon R3) / R120 (Swegon R5) – units in the R series.
- Ilto W80 / W100 / W130 / W230 (Swegon W9) – the W series.
- Ilto X100 and Iltoflex 400 – special models.
Activated carbon filter for odour removal
For several Ilto models (including 430/435/440, 300–400 and 270 K), activated carbon filters are also available to reduce odours – handy, for example, near a busy road or if there are occasional odours in the outdoor air.
Compatible or original?
For most Ilto models, both a Finnish-made compatible filter and an original are available (e.g. W80/W100, R120 and 430–440 also as originals). Both fit the same unit.

Ilto or Swegon Casa?
Since Ilto now belongs to the Swegon Casa family, it's worth also checking the Swegon guide if your unit has both names.
Filter classes and replacement interval
The supply-air filter is typically F7 (ePM1 55 %). The replacement interval is generally 6–12 months – a clogged filter worsens the indoor air and raises electricity consumption.
Summary
1. Check the model on the rating plate (e.g. Ilto 440).
2. Choose a filter set that matches the model.
3. Decide on compatible or original, and whether you need activated carbon.
4. Change in time.
