Do you know what you breathe at home?

Do you know what you breathe in your home?

Fresh air flows into your lungs as you gasp for clean, fresh, and refreshing oxygen.
You feel like you’re getting a whole new energy boost. And you know what? In fact, you do.

It’s easier to tackle the day’s chores when your brain has been recharged overnight by the fresh, changing air in the room.
Our energy levels also remain high throughout the day, when our bodies are served up a lung-boosting,
oxygen-rich air that is acidic and delicious for our health.

Only few of us have the innate ability to use our lungs to their full potential. To perform, our lungs need not only occasional exercise, but also fresh and adequate air.
Breathing plays a huge role in a person’s overall well-being and strength. In fact, fresh indoor air is not only relatively simple to achieve, but also one of the most important preventive measures against illnesses.

Science magazine called Tiede-lehti recently wrote “Every breath ventilates three hundred million alveoli, which have the surface area of a large apartment”. This sums up the far-reaching effects of indoor air in the home on our health. You breathe about 10 000 liters of air every day, but how often do you pay attention to what you are actually breathing?

Perhaps we enjoy part of our day’s oxygen balance by being outdoors in clean nature. However, most of the oxygen we breathe enters our lungs inside the walls of our homes. Almost every second our lungs fill with air, so it’s logical that air quality has a significant impact on our ability to feel well.

It is in our nature to spend our time on what we perceive to be meaningful for one reason or another. For example, we spend about a third of our lives sleeping, which is why we might invest in a good quality bed or perhaps even blackout curtains. In reality, even more time-consuming than sleep, sometimes consciously or unconsciously for all of us, is breathing. So why not also invest in air quality?

How, then, can we ensure clean indoor air? When the ventilation in our homes works properly, we can be confident that the air is healthy, adequate, and fresh. Good indoor air is special in that it is odorless, tasteless, and undetectable. Clear indoor air and good ventilation can be achieved with a small investment. In fact, it can even lead to savings in energy consumption.

We want to offer everyone the opportunity to invest in indoor air quality. We also believe it’s important to be sustainable, which is why we recommend ventilation filters made from domestic, high-quality, and recyclable materials. While our purpose at Suodatinkeskus is not to get rid of pollution from the entire world, we strive to provide everyone with a degree of cleaner indoor air where we spend most of our time.  We believe that, in addition to health benefits, effective ventilation can save on energy consumption and do a small, good deed for the climate. Besides, what in itself could be a better investment than our own or our family’s health and a clean living environment?
