RuuviTag – wireless temperature and humidity meter
RuuviTag is a wireless Bluetooth sensor designed and manufactured in Finland for monitoring temperature, humidity, air pressure and movement. Measurement data can be easily viewed on your phone using the free Ruuvi Station app.
RuuviTag is suitable for a wide range of applications, including monitoring conditions in homes, storage rooms, basements, garages, cottages, refrigerators and freezers. With its IP67 rating, the sensor can also be used outdoors.
Alarm limits can be set in the app, for example for excessively high or low temperature and humidity.

RuuviTag measures 4 parameters
Temperature
Accurate temperature monitoring indoors and outdoors. Typical accuracy is ±0.2 °C within the temperature range of +5…+60 °C.
Humidity
Measures relative humidity (RH %), absolute humidity and dew point. Typical accuracy is ±3 RH-% within the range of 20–80 % RH.
Air pressure
Measures air pressure between 500–1155 hPa with a typical accuracy of ±1 hPa.
Movement
The built-in accelerometer enables detection of sensor movement and the use of a movement counter.
Monitor conditions with the Ruuvi Station app
RuuviTag sends measurement data via Bluetooth directly to your phone. The free Ruuvi Station app allows you to view real-time measurements and historical data.
You can also set your own alarm limits. Your phone can notify you, for example, if:
- the freezer temperature rises
- humidity in the basement or storage room becomes too high
- the bedroom becomes too warm
- the temperature in the cottage drops too low.
The device stores 10 days of measurement history, which can also be exported from the app for further processing.
Ruuvi Station is available for Android and iOS and in Finnish, Swedish, English, French and German. Basic use of the app does not require registration.
Remote monitoring with Ruuvi Gateway
When connected to a phone, RuuviTag's typical Bluetooth range is approximately 5–20 metres indoors and 20–100 metres outdoors. Structures and other obstacles affect the actual range.
When measurement data needs to be monitored from outside Bluetooth range, the system can be complemented with the separately sold Ruuvi Gateway and Ruuvi cloud service.
This enables conditions in a cottage, storage room or other remote location to be monitored over the internet.

RuuviTag is particularly suitable for continuous temperature and humidity monitoring, for example in homes, bedrooms, basements, storage rooms, garages, cottages, greenhouses, refrigerators and freezers.
Together with Ruuvi Gateway, multiple RuuviTag sensors can also be used for centralized remote monitoring of different spaces.
