The hose has a switch, which is used to turn the vacuum cleaner on and off. Having a handle with an on/off switch really makes the cleaning experince much more pleasant, since you can turn off and turn on the vacuum cleaner during the cleaning, for example when you need to move furniture or if you have to answer the phone. Most users today choose a hose with handle start.
