The filter of a cooker hood can be either replaceable or washable. Most often, the metal grease filter of a cooker hood is washable, but even washable grease filters should still be replaced from time to time as needed. Please note that an uncleaned cooker hood and its filter are a hygiene and fire safety risk.

It is recommended to soak the washable grease filter for 15-20 minutes, for example in a sink with hot water and dishwashing detergent. After this, the filter is rinsed thoroughly and allowed to dry. Some filter models can also be washed in a dishwasher. Please note that washing in a dishwasher may cause the surface of the filter to change color. You can also use a grease remover intended for this purpose to clean the filter.
