The filter in a cooker hood can be either replaceable or washable. Most often, the metal grease filter in a cooker hood is washable, but even washable grease filters should be replaced from time to time if necessary. Please note that an uncleaned cooker hood and its filter pose a hygiene and fire safety risk.

It is recommended to soak the washable grease filter for 15-20 minutes, for example in a basin with warm water and washing-up liquid. Then rinse the filter thoroughly and let it dry. Some filter models can also be washed in a dishwasher. Please note that washing in a dishwasher may cause the surface of the filter to change colour. You can also use a grease remover intended for this purpose to clean the filter.
